Okay, 2020. That was quite something.

An outbreak that forced millions of individuals into their homes, plus government-enforced lockdowns and other measures to tackle the spread of a virus — that’s the entire summary of 2020.

The year was quite staggering. After graduating in 2019, I planned the next year to take a break from stress: basically, enjoyment. However, one moment, I was having dinner at a restaurant with my best friends, and the next moment, Zoom was surpassing 300 million daily virtual meeting participants.

From then on, people mastered all the dance moves, entered the Tweet fights, attended the MET online?! and Virgil’s (super long) DJ set, hyped the music battles, tuned into all the live sessions, and even baked bread.

The lockdown was to say the least, tough for many individuals. People had to go through adjusting to work from home, unexpected layoffs and the dawn of unemployment. Ultimately, everyone was trying their best to stay healthy and sane.

In all…

We are slowly getting back to life as we (kinda) knew it, and thankfully, it’s the end of 2020.

You made it.

Everyone experienced this year differently. Acknowledge that. Don’t make any one feel guilty for celebrating their wins and sympathize with those who suffered losses.

I pray you well into this new year: 2021. Be intentional. Have faith. Keep hope alive. Love deeply.

Wear your masks. Wash your hands frequently. Keep a social distance.

God bless you!
